Tiësto & Steve Aoki - Tornado (preview)

Here's the teaser video to the massive collaboration from Tiësto and Steve Aoki coming out 15th November on  Aoki's Dim Mak Records.

'Tornado' is an interesting blend of the sounds from the two producers, but we'll reserve our full judgement until the high quality version hits Beatport.

Tommy Lee & DJ Aero - Party People (live preview)

Tommy Lee have confirmed they're working on EP and here's a brand new song from the pair. 'Party People' (a phrase that newly-crowned "number 1" DJ David Guetta likes to say a lot) was debuted last night in Detroit as they supported deadmau5 on the Meowingtons Hax tour.

Note: this is taken from some footage Tommy Lee uploaded to Tumblr

Rihanna feat. Calvin Harris - We Found Love (R3hab's XS Remix)

Rihanna and Calvin Harris' collaboration became the UK's number 1 single for the second week running last weekend but only now are we beginning to see some remixes. Here's R3hab's take on the track, which he uploaded to SoundCloud today.

Release coming "soon".

Moguai news: new artist album coming soon, Ya Mama (Push The Tempo) tops Beatport and more

Moguai has had a busy time of late. He recently completed a tour of Asia and a wonderful video has been produced showing his travels:

The track you can hear in the background is his recent release, a remix of Fatboy Slim's 'Ya Mama (Push The Tempo)', which was released last week on Skint Records at is currently at number 1 on the Beatport Top 100! Download it here.

More exciting Moguai news is that he has a new artist album coming out on mau5trap soon, which he is "currently putting the finishing touches" to. We know he has a new single coming out. Skrillex names his debut album Voltage, out in the "coming weeks"

Skrillex is on the cover of this month's edition of magazine Rock Sound, and in the article they gave away some information on his debut album, due out this November soon on Atlantic.

It's called Voltage, the same as the song which so many Skrillex fans have being playing YouTube rips of for months.

“Similarly extraordinary is new album ‘Voltage’, a priority release on a major label that was almost entirely recorded, engineered, mixed, and mastered on one laptop. All the vocals recorded by Moore were captured on a USB microphone that cost less than £60 (“I’ve never done anything in a proper studio,” he smiles), and some tracks were started and finished in under a day.”

Skrillex has been playing many of the tracks from his album in his live shows this summer. Contenders for the tracklisting are:

 Voltage
 True Gangsters
 Drop it Hard
 Bangarang
 Breathe
 Amplifier (with Diplo)
 Right Here
 Rudeboy Bass

Kaskade & Skrillex - Lick It (preview)

'Lick It' is taken from Kaskade's forthcoming studio album, Fire & Ice, due out 25th October though Ultra Records.

This track is a co-production with Skrillex, so it's interesting how their two distinctive sounds have been merged together.

EP review: Talk of The South - The Ends

Formerly “Mike Darrah and The Ends”, the Canvey Island based quartet exploded onto the Essex music scene at the start of 2009.
Taking influences from classic Brit rock bands like The Smiths, The Clash and Blur, The Ends had elbowed their way into the Essex music circuit with a uniquely aged sound.
Gritty vocals and distorted guitars go hand in hand as The Ends conquer more and more venues and radio stations around the South East.
It’s now November 2011 and Michael Darrah (Lead Vocals, Rhythm Guitar), James Clarke (Backing Vocals, Lead Guitar), Liam Davies (Bass) and Joe Blamey (Drums) have just released the latest addition to their discography,

“Talk of The South”

The new EP offers 5 tracks explaining why The Ends had taken off so well in the first place. Riffs that are gonna be stuck in your head for the rest of the night will leave you wanting to hear more from the band. Blamey and his fills tie in well with the complex bass riffs from Davies, giving the songs instant rhythm you’ll be pumping your first to.
With just under 3 years of experience as a band, The Ends have found a really unique sound for this era.
Constantly experimenting with other genres and covers gains this band characteristics other bands simply don’t apply themselves to.
The other big factor with this EP is that it’s totally self-produced. Using their own equipment, in their own houses, surrounded by their own families, The Ends hadn’t just put money into this EP but passion.
I give any bands that “D.I.Y” an album or EP a lot of respect as it’s simply too easy to go out and record at a studio and let the engineer do all the mixing and mastering. Experimenting with new ideas can always help the sound of a recording as The Ends have proven.

This 18 minutes of full on, in your face, British rock n’ roll sounds raw and grainy but at the same time tight and melodic. For a bunch of just-turned-20 year olds this is a creation to be proud of.
They don’t ‘arf treat their fans good to, releasing the EP for free download, this is a band with friends close to their hearts.

A massive well done to The Ends for this, we look forward to hearing more in the future.

8/10.

Madeon - Icarus (preview)

Madeon uploaded some footage to YouTube today of his set at Social Club back in July. Interestingly he featured some unreleased music in the background - a song called 'Icarus'.

Could this be featured on his EP, due out later this year? We hope so as it's quite good.

Time Takers feat. DEV and Tinchy Stryder- It Goes (The Whistle Song)

What a journey! From it's instrumental debut back in January, we're now with this. 'It Goes (The Whistle Song)' features vocals from Tinchy Stryder and Dev.

Alex and Damian have a great story that we've followed since almost the start. They've gone from being unsigned with a massive tune to signed to Ministry of Sound with Tinchy and Dev on-board!

It's released January 2012 on Ministry of Sound.

Nero - Crush On You (Knife Party Remix)

Next up is some Nero. Knife Party debuted their remix of 'Crush On You' at their debut live performance at Space, Ibiza live on BBC Radio 1's Essential Mix back in August

Available for download 16th October as part of the 'Crush On You' remix EP. Pre-order it on iTunes

Example - Midnight Run (Flux Pavilion Remix)

Here's the first of two remixes of songs uploaded by UKF today. Flux Pavilion has a surprisingly softer take on Midnight Run than we'd expected; also interesting to note that the rap section at the end has been removed.

Download 4th December. Pre-order on iTunes.

Swedish House Mafia to hold Madison Square Garden after-party at Roseland Ballroom

They just keep on coming with these announcements today. Axwell just confirmed on Twitter that Swedish House Mafia will be holding an after-party for their Madison Square Garden event on 16th December, a venue in which deadmau5 is currently in the middle of a six night residency at.

No news on ticket prices or on sale dates so naturally we'll keep you informed.

A-Trak and Jacques Lu Cont join the Swedish House Mafia Madison Square Garden line-up, more tickets added

The artists to be joining Swedish House Mafia at Madison Square Garden have been revealed as A-Trak and Jacques Lu Cont.

The the two acts will open for the Swedes for their mammoth gig at Madison Square Garden on 16th December 2011. Initially tickets sold out in 9 minutes but after complaints from fans some re-arranging of the staging and cancelling the second orders from people have meant more tickets are now available.

The second batch of tickets will go on sale this Tuesday, 11th October, at 12pm EST via Ticketmaster and will be limited to two per household.

Swedish House Mafia statement:

New York. After long talks with the promoters, venue and ticket master we have managed to release a limited number of new tickets to the One Night Stand show at Madison Square Garden by Swedish House Mafia on Dec 16th. By changing slightly the staging plan and removing all tickets from those who attempted to purchase twice we have managed to find a new allocation.
A limited amount of tickets will be released for sale on Tuesday October 11 at 12:00 Noon Eastern Standard Time via Ticketmaster. There will be a strict two ticket limit per household enforced. Tickets will be sold online only and no tickets will be released prior to the show. The original purchaser must present corresponding ID along with the credit card used for purchase in order to receive the tickets and then must enter the venue immediately upon receipt. Tickets are non-transferable.

We would like to thank Ticketmaster for their 25000 USD donation to charity for the delay in dealing with our fans which we will donate to a selection of charities which will be published on our website and will include causes in the city of New York and we would like to thank Live Nation who have worked tirelessly and continue to do so ensuring as many of the queries that we had we answered.

We are also absolutely thrilled at this point to announce the supports.

First up is an old friend to our shows and frankly, one of the Kings of New York in our eyes. A Trak. Since winning the DMC World Championships at 15 he has pushed boundaries ever since as Djs headline for the first time in MSG, the skills he will bring to the decks seem only fitting. Of course he also wons Fools Gold records and is half of Duck Sauce!!

Quote : ‘Having an all DJ show at Madison Square Garden shows just how far our platform has come and how special this will be for the electronic scene in America. I’m absolutely thrilled to be a part of it and bring my own style of Djing to the table. We’re going to look back on this for years to come’ A Trak.

Second..a true inspiration. One of the biggest heroes to all 3 members of Swedish House Mafia, we are honoured to bring Jaques Lu Contes. Under so many different he has released some of the best produced electronic music in history from Les Rythmes Digitales, Thin White Duke, Paper Faces and of course Stuart Price …he returns to the turntables after a 5 year break producing Madonna, The Killers, Scissors Sisters and many more.

Thanks to everyone for their support. We cannot tell how much of a dream come true it has been to confirm and to sell out Madison Square Garden on this unique evening in New York City.

Tickets will be on sale via TicketMaster on Tuesday Oct 11th at 12 noon. Links to the site will be visible on Facebook.

Ed Banger Records posted this rather brief medley of the new Justice album, 'Audio, Video, Disco.':

It's the follow up to their 2007 debut effort '†', which was certified silver in the UK. The pair said that it would be "arena-rock-inspired" in an interview with Pitchfork in August, and have released two singles from it so far: 'Civilization' and 'Audio, Video. Disco.'

'Audio, Video, Disco.' is released 24th October and you can pre-order it on iTunes.

Feed Me working on full-length "album material"

We only called this yesterday and it turns out we were right. Feed Me has confirmed today on Facebook he will be working "on album material" in the coming months in between his hectic touring schedule which includes supporting deadmau5 on the rest of his Meowingtons Hax tour across North America and debuting a proper live show (as opposed to DJing).

Stay tuned for more info but expect a release at some point in 2012 on mau5trap.
