Avicii scores #4 on the UK Single Chart with Levels

The #6 DJ in the world Avicii finally released 'Levels' in the UK this week after almost a year of endless teases, set plays and leaks around the internet.

It was easily the most hyped House track of the year, and Reggie Yates on BBC Radio 1 confirmed the news it had charted extremely highly at number 4 in its first week.

It easily beats his last major UK single, with 'Seek Bromance' peaking at #13, albeit under other name Tim Berg.

This completes a massive year for Avicii; roll on 2012!

Mike Duz - Take It (Bitch!) and Professional Griefers remix

Mike Duz has been busy lately. After his remix of Moguai's Oxygen got a sort-of release on mau5trap's SoundCloud, he's back with another remix and also a great original track.

The hilariously titled 'Take It (Bitch!)' is a fast-paced electro-house track with a gravelly bass-line to boot.

Label and release date to be confirmed but it's expected at some point in 2012.

Also put online this week is Mike's unofficial remix of unreleased deadmau5 track 'Professional Griefers'.

Flux is gearing up to release new single 'Superbad', a collaboration with Doctor P, on 12th December through Circus Records.

Here's a short clip of Flux in action at Koko dropping 'Superbad':

Skrillex confirms new EP for December, collaborations with Nero and Damian Marley and album set for 2012 release

Just before his first headline London show (we were there), Skrillex was live on BBC Radio 1 talking to Zane Lowe about working with Korn, the night's show and future releases. As confirmed by Rolling Stone, Skrillex is to release an EP this December containing 5-6 tracks of new songs and remixes; this will be followed up by another EP "early" in 2012.

If you were wondering what had happened to his album, then don't fret. He's booked time off next year to properly sit down and create more of an "experience", rather than hash together the 30+ tracks and parts he has stacking up and release as an album.

Being one of the most in-demand producers, the conversation turned to collaborations. Skrillex is to work (or already has) with Nero and Damian Marley, son of Bob Marley. Skrillex has worked with Nero before on their joint remix of UK Number 1 single 'Promises'.

The interview ended with Zane hitting play on a 20 minute mix featuring tracks from Skrillex himself, Koan Sound, Kill The Noise and more.

Tracklisting

Skrillex- Cat Rats
KOAN Sound- Meanwhile In The Future
Skrillex- Syndicate VIP
Skrillex- Devil's Nest (feat. 12th Planet)
Skrillex & The Doors- Breakin' A Sweat
Skream- Anticipate (feat. Sam Frank)
Skrillex- True Gangsters
KOAN Sound- The Edge
Kill The Noise- Talk To Me
Skrillex - Jam Swag (feat. 12th Planet & Kill The Noise)
Skrillex- DNB Ting
Skrillex- Kyoto (feat. Sirah)

Calvin Harris and Madeon to play Milton Keynes Bowl with Swedish House Mafia

King of teasers, Swedish House Mafia, posted "ARNAOVDNSCIRHIMELA" as a clue to who is joining the line-up at Milton Keynes Bowl next July.

The anagram of course gives Calvin Harris and Madeon.

Wow.

Noisia - Could This Be [mau5trap]

Dutch trio Noisia return to mau5trap with the follow up to their devastating debut single for the label, 'Tommy's Theme'. 'Could This Be' channels the same uncompromising power and energy as the aforementioned single while upping the stakes by raising the BPM as they return to the deadly drum and bass concoctions with which they made their name.

Available for download on 21st November exclusively on Beatport.

Feed Me debuts live show in Rotterdam, shows us his Teeth

Feed Me played his first 'live' show last night at a free show Rotterdam as a warm-up to test out his new production before playing the I Love Techno festival in Belgium this weekend.

Teeth, as Gooch seem to refer to as it as, measures 9 metres across with the giant teeth-shaped LEDs and setup controlled by Ableton, the same software many producers use to make and perform EDM these days.

Feed Me and his Teeth are due to play the sold out UKF Bass Culture at Alexandra Palace on 25th November. Since he's in the middle of producing an album (many collaborations have been lined up for it), it seems like a golden opportunity take the new show on the road more extensively.

Here's a rather wonderful amateur video recording of the show in Rotterdam:

Michael Woods feat. Duvall - Last Day On Earth

Despite (unbelievably) not making DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs poll this year, it's not stopping Michael Woods from giving us new tunes.

Pete Tong (what we would do without him?) had the first radio play of Woods' new single 'Last Day On Earth', featuring vocals from Duvall.

Splendid.

Feed Me - What You Know (Cover of Two Door Cinema Club)

Just a quick post: here's Feed Me's cover of Two Door Cinema Club's 'What You Know', which debuted last night on Pete Tong's show.

Also check out Feed Me's new live set-up, it's awesome!

Swedish House Mafia and Knife Party's Antidote gets a vocal mix, release now set for 2012?

In a matter of minutes Annie Mac's show will begin in which she will be giving the radio premiere of the vocal mix of Swedish House Mafia and Knife Party's collaboration 'Antidote'.

The track which started life back in August during Knife Party's debut live set at Space Ibiza now has vocals from an un-named vocalist, but presumably we'll find out in good time who this is.

Internet chatter is suggesting that the release, which we would have presumed was before the release of 'One Night Stand: The Live Album' in December, is now set for 2012. This is all to be confirmed so nothing definite as of yet.

We'll update this post with the more information and the radio rip but for now here's a recording from Steve Angello's performance at Escape from Wonderland in October:

Luciana's future collaborations include Wolfgang Gartner and Tiësto, new single titled Wicked Workout

Queen of Dance Luciana's been touring across Australia to promote 'I'm Still Hot'. She recently gave an interview to Novanation and revealed details of many of her future tracks.

First up is her next single, 'Wicked Workout', a hook up with Jochen Simms that's going to be released on Phonetic Recordings. They teased a preview back in September:

She's also going to feature on a single by Wolfgang Gartner and Tiësto (Update: titled 'We Own The Night'), which is massive for Luciana. The combined fan-base of the two producers can only mean this track is going to soar up the Beatport chart after release.

She also mentioned she's made another record with Nari & Milani and finished more tracks with Bodyrox for 2012 film StreetDance 2.

Exciting times ahead for Luciana then!

Thanks again to regular reader Daniel Muscat (@MuscatPerson) for hitting us up with the interview.

deadmau5 - Aural Psyanpse

Out of nowhere deadmau5 released a new single on Friday. 'Aural Psynapse' made its live debut in Australia for the Creamfields tour in April.

It's a remake of an old mau5 track that he resurrected to become a bit more house-y than it was trance-y. It's currently sitting at #135 on the iTunes UK Top 200 which just goes to show the power of the internet nowadays.

Skrillex's Voltage set to be an EP, not an album?

So after reading this article in Rolling Stone it looks like Voltage will now be an EP rather than a proper album.

Rock Sound originally reported 'Voltage' was the name of his debut album but the interview took place two months ago at Creamfields. Now Rolling Stone has a recent quote from Mr. Moore himself, where he seems to dismiss the talk of an album from him:

"I have like 30 songs done," he says. "I couldn't put together an album with what I have, because it's not cohesive as an album. So I'll probably end up just releasing some EPs of maybe like six songs each. I don't want to just put 12 songs together and call it an album because it doesn't feel like it flows."

His last EP 'More Monsters and Sprites' was announced only 5 days before release so his next EP could be just around the corner.

UKF Bass Culture to return Spring 2012 for "one night only"

After selling out the Chase & Status-headlined event at Alexandra Palace this month, UKF Bass Culture is to return to a Central London location in the Spring of next year.

A similar night is promised; an "incredible" "all-night rave" with some big headliners. More info when we get it.
